Whatever aare you going to do with green bananas. I tried to make mine ripe, I waited for 2 weeks till the outer skin got mouldy and it was still freaking green. I searched up recipes but not many websites even offered anything to do with green bananas. Thankfully for this site, I got this green banana salad recipe. Sounds yucky, looks yucky, but it tastes like a potato salad with extra texture and flavour! I swear.
15-20 green bananas
2 Italian peppers
1 med. sized onion
1/3 c. stuffed green olives
1/4 c. red vinegar
1/4 c. olive oil
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Dash of salt
Peel the green bananas and bring them to a boil in salted water until tender and you can pierce with a fork, yet not fall apart. (Note: green banana peel will stain your hands - rub hands with salt when you're through peeling step).
While the bananas are boiling, slice the onion and peppers into thin slices. Chop the stuffed green olives. Place chopped ingredients into a large bowl. Take green bananas and slice into rings of 1/4 inch thickness. Drop into bowl. Add vinegar, olive oil and black pepper. Blend well. Serves 4.
